Beam Reinforcement Calculator (Moment + Axial)

Calculate the required tension steel area for a concrete beam subjected to bending moment and axial force according to ACI 318.

Section Parameters

Use Positive (+) for Compression, Negative (-) for Tension

b = 300h = 400d = 350

What is this calculator?

This tool determines the required longitudinal tension reinforcement for a rectangular concrete beam subject to both flexure and axial loads based on the ACI 318 building code.

Engineering Logic

It uses the equivalent eccentricity method. If the axial force is tensile, it increases the required steel. If it is compressive, it reduces it. If compression exceeds 10% of the gross concrete capacity, the element must be designed as a column.
